Every person you encounter is an opportunity. Every situation you find yourself in, is an opportunity, as well. We spend our whole lifetime defining 'who we are', by all the opportunities that come along and by how we interact in that moment. Every situation is a time to define yourself again and again. You don't gain wisdom from never making any mistakes. You don't gain wisdom from other's mistakes, either. And I've learned that as much as it is tried, you cannot pass wisdom on to another. We can read and share the wise words of our elders, but rarely do we truly embrace the wisdom until we have experienced the situations that teach us the truth in the wise words. So, don't take my words or anyone else's words as your truth, instead go out in the world and experience life, try, make mistakes, fix things and have successes and failures. Gain your wisdom the old fashioned way, earn it! It is the only way you will believe it! KJ
Food for Thought! Having conversations with like-minded individuals is like talking to a mirror. Expand your thoughts and mind, have conversations with people who disagree with your point of view. Try to see the issues at hand from their perspective. We will never learn much from hearing our own thoughts echoed back at us. We learn more when we listen to and consider all opposing viewpoints. KJ
